My art has evolved from a concentration In water colors and prints to my focus today, oils and encaustic painting, a technique of painting with pigmented hot bees wax that adds depth and texture. Much of my work has been inspired by the landscape and architecture on Martha’s Vineyard, and how the details reveal island life. My paintings have won multiple awards in the annual All Island art show and are shown each season at the Cousen Rose Gallery in Oak Bluffs, The Copperworks in Menemsha, and Old Sculpin Gallery in Edgartown. A graduate of Mass College of Art, I worked as an art director at a technical magazine before opening a frame shop in Waltham. As the founder of Felton Street Studios, l’ve had the privilege of working with a wide variety of new and established artists in the community, including many of the artists participating in the upcoming Waltham Open Studios.
