The outdoor environments at Cape Cod have the right feel for my psychological themes, which usually include furniture, human or animal interactions. In my room interiors, I explore psychological themes using spaces where chairs, beds and other furniture-creatures entice viewers to enter. Within these surreal settings I implicate my own personal situations and relationships to others. I express my ideas through oil painting on canvas, collage on painted backgrounds and large installations.
My work has evolved since I was a commercial artist and illustrator of furniture while living in North Carolina prior to 1995. Since 2003 I have been a member of Kingston Gallery in Boston.
