Kristin Petrillo is a contemporary realist painter and graphic designer living and working in Waltham, MA. In her painting practice, Kristin explores elevating the ordinary world through experimentation with form reduction, color, and light. Her most recent work is drawn from photographs taken while walking the forgotten or mundane parts of New England’s cities and towns. Drawn to commonplace scenes, she believes that even the most ordinary view can be dignified and satisfying through the exacting use of composition to evoke emotion. Kristin paints with acrylics in a hard-edge style that emphasizes these formal qualities.
