My work shifts subject matter, but the process remains the same:

Painting on wood, I pour paint, using mainly oils, but also acrylics, stains, shellac; Then pour some more; then scrape it down, then more pouring, scraping layering, etc. I use rollers, squeegees, palette knives and brushes. I'll often paint over old paintings: a landscape might become a head, which might become a building, or vice-versa, or hither and yon. Whatever ideas the subject matter conveys, it's the paint that creates the emotions, the feelings, the deeper meaning of the work.
