Jasmine Chen grew up moving between China and the US. A diasporist artist living in a digital world, her art is inspired by the “unsettled nature” of that existence, and the way that social connectivity influences this dynamic by both “feeding and interrupting” memory, imagination and the making of art. Her large, celebratory canvases are a synthesis of figure, still-life, and landscape that reflect the duality of her personal experience and the fragmentation and plurality of our times. Jasmine has attended residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, the SEARS Residency, and the Storefront Art Projects. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Danforth Art Museum in Framingham and private collections in Asia and America. In 2026, she was a finalist awarded an honorarium to develop a proposal for the Dewey Square Mural.
