Coming or Going? Tiny Tales Series Necklace

Jerry has been making jewelry and welded metal sculptures for nearly 30 years. He studied jewelry making at Brookline and Cambridge Adult Education, Arlington Center for the Arts, The Museum School at the MFA, The DeCordova Museum School, and most recently at The Metalwerx School and Studio in Waltham. Since 2017, Jerry has been a StudioMate at Metalwerx, where he creates the beautiful and unusual pieces you will see at Waltham Open Studios. He is known for his “Tiny Tales” creations, in which he places small human figures in unique settings that invite you to “tell a story” that brings personal meaning to the piece. He makes small sculptural objects that often generate an “Oh my gosh...how does he DO that?” reaction. Jerry’s one of a kind creations can be found at The Clever Hand Gallery in Wellesley, MA. He works in sterling silver and brass, and frequently upcycles both metals and other materials. His earrings made from hand cut bicycle inner tubes and vintage bone Mah Jong bone counting sticks are two examples. Jerry summers in Antrim, NH where he creates welded found metal sculptures at his Firehouse Studio. He learned welding at Snow Farm and The Mass College of Art. These larger pieces are not on display at WOS, but one of his sculptures was recently selected for a public display of the work of five local artists in Peterborough New Hampshire.
