Joshua Winer, Artist: Biographical Information

I majored in Painting at Yale University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and received a scholarship to study Fresco painting at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. Following Yale, I explored Europe and discovered the magic and beauty of mosaics and frescos in public buildings. This experience motivated me to study of Architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where I graduated with a Masters in Architecture. My Masters Thesis was titled ‘The Integration of Art With Architecture’.After graduation, I worked as an architect in Cambridge and I received my Architectural License. During this period I started designing and painting architectural mural facades, which led to my own full-time practice creating site specific art. I have continued with this work for more than 4 decades, working in a wide range of media on projects locally, nationally and internationally.

My artistic practice fills me with joy, as I work and travel, teach and learn while growing personally and professionally. Every day is a new adventure into the possibilities of artistic creation in the public realm.
