Lisa Boemer is a visual artist whose practice explores how curiosity, observation, and material exploration lead to discovery. Working across painting, drawing, installation, and intuitive mark-making, she creates conditions where materials, gesture, and chance participate in the discovery of unexpected relationships and meaning.

Her work moves fluidly between observational painting, abstraction, reclaimed NOAA nautical charts, handmade paper rope, and unconventional drawing tools. Rather than beginning with a predetermined outcome, Lisa embraces experimentation, allowing materials to become active collaborators in the creative process. Through layered surfaces, movement, and sustained attention, each painting invites viewers to discover images, connections, and possibilities that gradually emerge over time.

Lisa's work has been exhibited at the Fitchburg Art Museum, the Copley Society of Art, the WAH Center in Brooklyn, and regional exhibitions throughout New England. She has participated in artist residencies at the New York Academy of Art, Horned Dorset Colony, Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill, and most recently the MADE Artist Residency in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Based at Lincoln Studios in Waltham, Lisa welcomes visitors into her studio to experience works in progress, ask questions, and explore the creative process. She invites you to Draw In. Look Closely. Discover More.
