Touring Hand Puppet Show "Judy Saves the Day"

Sarah Nolen (she/her) is a puppeteer and filmmaker originally from Austin, Texas. She now works out of Waltham, Massachusetts, as a touring artist, puppet builder, and director for stage and screen. She earned her MFA in Puppet Arts from the University of Connecticut in 2015. She is known for her versatile, witty, and innovative work across many puppetry styles.

 

Through her company, Puppet Motion, Sarah tours original puppet productions all around the Greater Boston area and beyond. She has worked with the Boston Pops Orchestra, performed in films for Netflix such as Adam McKay's "Don't Look Up" (2021), and directed the children's web series "Feel Your Best Self" which won an award for best original web series at the Kidscreen Summit in 2023.


Most recently, Sarah received an award for "Best Shorty" at the first-ever Boston Fringe Festival for her original solo puppet show "Judy Punches Back," and toured to Alaska with the puppet production of Sandglass Theater's "Feral" which she directed and performs.
