Painting is an important part of my life. It allows me an expressive voice. It is a continuing process of learning what I can do with paint and discovering what paint can do for me.
My art is an extension of my career. Initially I painted architectural subjects which evolved into experimenting with abstract design which opened to me new forms of creativity. My inspirations range from Charles Sheeler, Robert Rauschenberg, and Gerhard Richter, to name a few. I work in acrylics, experimenting with a variety of application methods from brushes to credit cards, rags to squeegees. My work often includes texture and depth.
I have worked and learned with a few local artists and attended classes and workshops, but my work is mostly self-exploratory. I live and work in Waltham, Massachusetts. My art has become an integral part of me. With each painting I am pushing my technical skills further. The canvas becomes an emotional expression of feeling, almost spiritual.
